අ ගාධය, n. hole, වළ, abyss, gulf, පාතාලය.

අ තලය, n. the abyss, the under-world, a particular hell, පාතාලය.

අධෝ භුවනය, n. the underworld, infernal region, Nāga world, පාතාලය.

අශ්ව තරයා, n. mule; a chief of the Nāgas or serpents who inhabit පාතාලය.

කඳු පාතාලය, n. mountain valley.

තුන්ලොව, තුන්ලෝකය, n. the three worlds, viz. දිව්‍ය‍ලෝකය, මනුෂ්‍යලෝකය and නාගලෝ කය or පාතාලය: the world of gods, the world of men, and the lower region or world of demons, in all of which the inhabitants are liable to passions.

දුර්මුඛයා, n. monkey chief; nāga or serpent of පාතාලය; demon, රාක්‍ෂසයා; horse, අශ්වයා.

දෙරණය, n. the earth, ground, පො‍ළොව; abyss or snake world, පාතාලය, නාගලෝකය; ear-ring, කර්‍ණාභරණය.

ධෘත·රාෂ්ට්‍රයා, n. serpent of පාතාලය, නාගයා; a god, දෙවියෙක්; a king of the moon-race, චන්‍ද්‍රවංශයේ රජෙක්; goose or swan, පාත්තයා or හංසයා; chief of the ගන්‍ධර්‍වයෝ.

පාතාලය, n. low place, gulf, abyss; infernal region, Hades; abode of the Nāgas or serpent race.

බලි·මන්‍දිරය, n. (බලි demon), infernal region, යක්‍ෂපාතාලය.

මහෝරගයා, n. (මහා උරගයා), any large snake, ලොකු සර්‍පයා; a demigod who is king of serpents and an inhabitant of පාතාලය.

යම, යමයා, n. The Indian Pluto, who is the Regent of the South and of death, and judge in the infernal region called පාතාලය of those who at death go there because it is doubtful whether they are bad enough for නරකාදිය or good enough for ස්වර්‍ගය, virtue and vice being about equal in them, their fate Yama decides: දකුණු දිශාවේ දෙවියා, යමරජ.

රසා·තලය, n. (රසා earth, තලය bottom), a name of පාතාලය or subterranean region, නාගලේකය.

ස·තිස්·නරක, n. pl. the thirty-six hells into which Tartarus or පාතාලය‍is divided.
