වැළ‍ඳෙනවා, v. i. to become attached to, embrace or attack (of disease), as මට ලෙඩක් වැළඳුණා, a disease attacked or befell me, අල්ලනවා; pret. වැළඳුණා.

විදමන, n. boring, piercing, විදීම; a bore, perforation, විදපු සිදුර; shooting with an arrow, archery, ඊගස් විදීම.

වත්කම, n. (වත් fr වස්තු,), property, wealth, competence, පොහොසත්කම.

වි·වරය, n. a split, rift, fissure, crevice, aperture, dehiscence, පැල්ම, සිදුර; flaw, පළුදුව.

වි·රේචනයවෙනවා, v. i. (of the bowels), to become purged or relaxed, to purge, අධිකලෙස පාචනවෙනවා.

වි·හර්‍ෂ, a. (වි priv., හර්‍ෂ pleased), displeased, අප්‍රසන්න.

වරට, ad. එකවරට at once, at one time.

වස්වසනවා, v. i. (වස් the rains, වසනවා dwell), to sojourn during the rainy season. According to B. the monk has no settle home, but during the rains may remain with a householder. Whilst there it is usual for him to give religious instruction to the inmates and others who attend.

වාටිය, n. hem, border, selvedge; rim, ගැටිය.

වරයා, suf. res. . or hon. expressing eminence or respect, as පඬිවරයා, eminent pandit, ගුරුවරයා, the teacher.
