අපුල්ලනවා, v. t. to full or wash clothes (generally by beating); pret. ඇපුල්ලුවා; v. n. ඇ පිල්ලීම.

ආකෝටනය, n. giving strokes or beating, chopping, කෙටීම; washing clothes, ඇපිල්ලීම.

ඇපිල්ලීම, v. n. of ඇපිල්ලෙනවා and අපුල්ල නවා: washing.

ඇපිල්ලෙනවා, v. i. become washed or come clean in the washing; pret. ඇපුල්ලුණ.

ඇස් පිල, n. peacock's feather; pl. ඇස් පිල්.

ඇළ පිල්ල, n. gram. side piece, viz. the vowel sign (ා) at the side a consonant, as කා, being the non-initial for ආ, ā.

ඉ, n. The fifth vowel of the alphabet; the third in Sanskrit, which has not the two preceding. Its sound is the fine sharp sound of i in pin; its non-initial form is (ි), called ඉස්පිල්ල head or top piece, placed above the consonant it vocalizes: as කි,මි පින්, ki, mi, pin.

ඉපිලි, v. adj. pret. of ඉපිලෙනවා: that has arisen, floating &c.

ඉපිලි කඳ, n. buoy.

ඉපිලෙනවා, v. i. to float, rise to the surface, float or fly in the air; pret. ඉපිලුණා; v. n. ඉපිලීම.
