අ හිතතාව, අ හිත භාවය, n. disaffection, hostility, විපක්ෂකම &c.

අදර, n. respect, esteem, affection, love, ආදරය; lip, තොල.

අනාදරය, n. lack of affection or respect, ආද රය නැතිකම, disrespect, disregard, අවනම්බුව, සුළුකෙරීම.

ආදර or ආදරේ වෙනවා, v. i. to love, have affection for.

ආදරගෞරවකරනවා, v. to regard or treat with affection or respect, reverence.

ආදරය, n. love, affection, regard.

ආදරවන්ත, a. loving, affectionate, beloved.

ආබඬය, ආබන්ධය, n. bond, tie, බැඳුම; affection; ඇලුම්කම.

ආලය, n. desire, affection, fondness, attachment, ඇලුම්කම; house, ගෙය.

ඇලුම, ඇලුම්කම, n. attachment, affection, liking, fondness, devotedness.

ඉත, a. friendly, affectionate, desired, මිත්‍රවූ; (Sans.) gone; remembered.

උවස, n. affection, regard, ආදරය.

ඔට, n. E. of ඕෂ්ඨ: lip, තොල; regard, affection, ආදරය.

ක්ලේශ රහිත, a. passionless, without evil affections, අභිලාෂනැති.

ක්ලේශය, n. any passion, desire or evil affection, අභිලාෂය, කෙලෙස්; sorrow, affliction, care, දුක. B. teaches that ක්ලේශය or desire is the root of all sin and sorrow, and renders transmigration and continued existence inevitable until all ක්ලේශ are subdued and exterminated; when that is accomplished නිර්‍වාණ or non-existence is attained. The non-attainment of it,—that is, continued conscious existence,—is regarded as a calamity, and it is the supreme object of B. and its laws and observances to effect the extermination of ක්ලේශ.
