අභි නීහාරය, n. (අභි emp., නි to, හාරය bringing), aspiration, desire, prayer, ප්‍රාර්‍ථනාව.

ඇයද, p. pl. of අයදිනවා having requested, supplicated or prayed, ඉල්ලා.

භාගීරථී, n. ap. of the Ganges, so called, it is said, because it first descended from heaven in answer to the prayers of king භගීරථ.

මන්ත්‍රය, n. incantation, enchantment; a formula or prayer addressed to a deity; a division of the Vedas.

යජුර්‍වෙදය, n. (යජුස්වේදය), the Yajur Veda, one of the four Védas. It is divided into two parts, the black and the white, both of which are chiefly on religious rites, and its prayers are chiefly in metrical prose, යජුස්.
