උප න්‍යාසය, n. proem, preface &c., ආරම්භය: statement, proposal; precept, උපදෙස.

උසුරුව, n. E. for උච්චාරණය: utterance, statement, කීම.

කට කථාව, n. oral statement, hearsay.

කථා විච්ඡේදය, n. refutation of a statement or argument; see වාක්‍ය ඛන්ඩනය.

කල්පය, n. a period said to be equal to a day of Brahma which equals 4,320,000,000 solar years: it is the Sakwala or world period, which is divided into four parts, viz. its formation, its duration, its destruction and its non-entity until the commencement of its reformation. It is difficult, however, to reconcile the various statements one with another, since during the Kalpa the age of man is said to gradually increase from ten years to an asankhya and again to diminish gradually to ten years: an asankhya being about the twentieth power of a million.

කීම, v. n. of කියනවා: saying; statement; phrase.

නි·වේදනය, n. address, කථාව; information, දැන්වීම; statement, කියමන.

ප්‍රථම·පදය, n. log. first statement, viz. major premiss.

භාෂිතය, n. what is said, utterance, statement, කී දේ, කියමන.

මුඛ·වෘත්තාන්තය, n. oral statement or news, hearsay, කට කථාව.

මුද්‍රිත·වාක්‍යය, n. printed phrase or statement, printed matter, letter-press. අච්චුගසාපු වගන් තිය or කොටස.

යනු, n. lit. that says or runs so and so, viz. that is or is called: used to specify things, as අයනු or අයන්න, කයනු, that which is called අ &c., viz. the letter අ &c., ඔහු ගියාය යනු, the (statement) that he went.

යනුවෙන්, n. abl. by the statement or the fact, යන කාරණාවෙන්.
