අ දත්තාදානය, n. (අදත්ත not given, අදානය taking), taking what is not given, viz. larceny, theft, හොරකම.

අ පරි හාර්‍ය්‍ය, a. (හාර්‍ය්‍ය that should be taken away), unavoidable, inevitable. E. S.

අ මනෝහර, a. (මනඃ: mind, හර taking), unattractive. ungraceful, displeasing: see අම නෝඥ.

අ හාර්‍ය්‍ය, a. that cannot be taken away or stolen, පැහැරගත නොහැකිවූ.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අඬගහගන යනවා or එනවා, v. t. (acc.) to take, go with or bring (a person).

අතඹුල, n. (අත ඇඹුල), nelli fruit in the hands: අතඹුලක් සේ, fig. manifestly, undoubtedly, unmistakably.

අත් වැරැද්ද, n. bip, mistake, inadvertence, error; pl. අත්වැරදි.

අතු පාහිනවා, අතු බානවා, v. to lop or take off branches, leaving only the trunk.

අධ්‍යාහරණ, අධ්‍යාහාර, a. (අධි extra, ආභරණ taking), implied, supplemental; as මම, though not expressed, is implied in or supplemental to කෙළෙමි.

අධි ග්‍රහණයකරනවා, v. t. to take or keep possession of, haunt, අරක්ගන්නවා.

අධි වාසනාකරනවා, v. t. to accept, පිළිගන්නවා; take charge of, භාරගන්නවා; tolerate, ඉව සනවා

අනවධානය, n. inadvertence, mistake, ප්‍රමාද දෝෂය, වැරදිල්ල.

අනාදානය, a. (අන් ආදානය), not taking, non-acceptance, නොගැනීම, පිළිනොගැනීම.

අනු පානය, n. (අනු with), accompanying fluid or drink (in which medicine is taken); fluid vehicle in medicine.
