ප්‍රාණවත්, a. living, animated, පණ ඇති; lively, active, energetic, vigorous, උනන්දු, විර්‍ය්‍ය වන්ත.

පිළිණය, n. promise, agreement, covenant, ගිවි සුම; vow, බාරය.

පිරිසුන්, a. defined, limited, නියමවූ, මායිම්කළ.

පෙර·බත, n. lit. first-rice, viz, first meal of the day, midday meal, දවල්කෑම; the time there of, viz, morning, උදය.

පණහා, ad. See පාසා.

පටලිය, n. stalk, නැට්ට; shield, පලිහ.

පුරෝධා, පුරෝහිතයා, n. (පුරස් first, ධා held, හිත revered), family priest (of Brahmins), පවුලේ පූජකයා; minister of state, counsellor, මන්ත්‍රියා; the planet Jupiter or its regent, බෘහස්පති.

පළනවා, v. t. to split, cleave, rend: හිත පළ නවා to wound or lacerate the heart; pret. පැළුවා, v. n. පැළිම.

පරි·කූටය, n. barrier, බාධාව, trench, moat, අගළ.

පාලිය, n. row, range, line, පේළිය; lobe of the ear, කන්පෙත්ත; edge of a tool, මුවාත; mark, ලකුණ; spot, ලපය; the Pali language, (so called because of its perfect grammatical arrangement), the ancient language of south Bihar, also called මාගධ භාෂාව.
