ව්‍යක්ත·කථනාචාර්‍ය්‍යයා, n. teacher of oratory, elocutionist, orator.

විහිදෙනවා, v. i. to open,expand, spread, deploy, become diffused, radiate; pret. විහිදුණ.

වි‍·යෝවෙනවා, v. i. to become disjoined, &c. වෙන්වෙනවා.

වක්කම, n. part, portion, share, පංගුව; also = වක්අඟ.

විජල, n. sauce mixed with the water of boiled rice.

වේදාංගය, n. (වේද අංගය), branch of knowledge or of the Veda; there are six such regarded as subordinate parts of the Veda, viz. ශික්‍ෂා ශාස්ත්‍රය, learning, sp. pronunciation; කල්ප ශාස්ත්‍රය, religious ceremonies; ව්‍යාකරණ ශා ස්ත්‍රය, grammar; ඡන්‍දශ්ශාස්ත්‍රය, prosody; ජෝතිශ්‍ය ශාස්ත්‍රය, astronomy, and නිරුක්ති ශාස්ත්‍රය, glossography or science of explanation.
